Stop Making These 3 Marketing Mistakes

Manufacturers, stop leaving money on the table with these mistakes.

Problem 1:
Your website is not updated.

Consequence: You are making it more difficult for prospects to find you.

Google likes fresh content, and it will rank it higher.
Your audience will also click more on updated content which will improve your click-through rate.

Problem 2:
Your quarterly newsletter does not replace having a blog. (Not just any blog but SEO Copy to increase your visibility and conversions.)

Consequence: Again, you are not helping your prospects find you.

Research keywords, use them in the first 100 words of your content and end with a call-to-action.

Problem 3: You do not have enough sales enablement content.

Consequence: You lose out on the opportunity to build more relationships. You leave money on the table as fewer sales are closed.

There have been too many sales calls talking about how their product is the “Cadillac of products.” You should provide more sales enablement content to support your sales staff during the second half of the sales funnel. White papers are instrumental for complex processes and do help the sales staff, but it is not enough.

From my experience, manufacturers should provide various sales scripts and more training materials to ensure more closed deals.

Bonus tip:
Make sure your marketing team can access the website at any time for updates. Stop giving up control of your website. The experiences I have seen/heard:

  • Waiting months for the company to update the website.
  • Waiting weeks/months because someone was on vacation/ill/etc.
  • Communication delays because the company is in another country.

If you found this helpful, please consider giving it a clap.
